History

The project began as a result of the compassion of a non-profit group of women in the United States. Rebekah Kiser, an American Citizen, traveled to Ethiopia as a tourist.

During her stay she became aware of the problem of Fistula for women and especially the housing crisis. As she shared her experiences with other American women, they bonded together to donate money. They assigned her the responsibility of returning to Ethiopia to start the project.
