I’ve spent the day in frustration. I finally got tickets for a flight for a group that is coming to volunteer. It took nine tries over two weeks. In the line today I was number 77 and they were on number 18.
Then I went to the Justice Department to get authorization for me to be working on this women for women project. After getting twelve signatures of authentication, I found out I need copies of my diploma and notarized letters about my work experience. Then they all need twelve signatures. On and on…..
This took eight hours of work time. My only redemption is seeing the women who are graduating. Who could know that they could go from fistula victims to beauty salon employees full of life and hope? Melanie is taking them shopping tomorrow at the Mercado to get them fashion fit for graduation Saturday.
I’ve had water and electricity few days. So life is good.
