Happy Birthday Mark Packard!!! My nephew is 21 years old and I am very sure he is spending his birthday studying or some other worth while thing. I’ll never forget how you “wagged your tail behind you” I’m so proud of you!
Today has been the range. I worked with a fashion magazine about a story they are doing and I am scheduling a time to be the guest “make up artist” Then I spent the rest of the day teaching facial skills at our new Beauty Salon. Now I skipped going to look at the Chicken farm to write a letter to you. Hmmmmm….. I hope they make lots of money but I still think I would sign up for the beauty salon.
I just finished a fresh roasted cup of coffee and I am watching our house mother, Younguse pet our sweet little kitty. Her name is Sucuar -sugar in English. I swear Ishi keeps carrying her around by the head and Buna lets her attack her tail. We have the sweetest animals.
I am learning to read!!! the alphabet is completely different. It is called the Fidel and consists of 82 families of seven letters but I am learning. Kassa got irritated with me today because I wanted to circle all the letters I knew in the newspaper while we were waiting for an interview and he couldn’t read the story.
This is the heartbreaking part. I am leaving tomorrow for the countryside. A reporter friend of mine called me about a little four year old girl with Fistula. It started when she was two!!!! Her mother lives in a mud room. She is terrified about the future. So I am on my way to pick them up. We’ve always known that part of our vision is to go to the countryside and pick up the women who can’t get here by themselves but what a tragic way to start.
