September 16

I have water!!!! I was truly singing as I washed my clothes in my little pink bucket. I’m not even missing the extra rinse cycle on my washer at home. I do have to say that washing sheets by hand is a very good work out.

I think we may need to get a new NGO as a humane society here. We have our first dog Ishi (sorry there are no quotation marks on this computer). She looks like a yellow lab but quite stunning in her faux crocodile pink leather with rhinestone collar. Then we have Buna, also a little girl. As much as I don’t want to hurt Saber’s feelings (my dog in the USA) Buna may be the cutest dog that ever lived. She is a small brown fluff ball. Her collar is a pink boa. Now the problem here is that female dogs are given to the neighborhood boys to stone to death so it’s really hard to leave any on the street. So…. we also have a new baby, They called her Betty but when they found out that was a human name they had to change it because it is against their culture for an animal to have a human name. I really wanted them to name her Becky but we settled on Honey. She is about ten inches and has the roundest tummy you’ve ever seen.

To top it all off we also have two female kittens about six weeks old. Poor Ishi thinks she is the Mother of the universe so she is having quite the time cleaning them and trying to carry them around.

I said good bye to my good friend Jim Rollin today. He has been developing the social work program at the university for the last three years. I’m going to miss him!

Now it’s time to go get some more laundry going. I’ve got water saved in every container in my house.

Tomorrow it’s back to changing the world at the Trampled Rose.
