The time is flying by! One of the things I didn’t anticipate is that we might have a few drop outs. One lady who has been here since we opened decided to move out because she didn’t want to work. She said she was looking for a place where she could be taken care of for the rest of her life without any work. I guess that’s not us but it was heart breaking anyway.

It’s rainy and cold here in the afternoons and nights but the days have been nice. I spent the morning at the swimming pool at the Sheraton Hotel all by myself. I read a book, ate a quesidilla, and felt like a queen. Another bonus to living here is that I have a beauty salon right across the street from my house. I got my hair washed and blown out for about $5.25. Then I was at our second project and I enjoyed sheets of rain and lots of mud. Oh well!

The main thing we are working on now is Phase II. This is the project where we have small houses of four women each and in one years time prepare them to live on their own.

We are opening nine new houses while I am here. So lots of work:) It’s so nice in the night when I hear the rain and think of so many women out on the street and that it won’t be long until we can get them inside.
