June 21, Wednesday:

I’m back on the upswing of this crazy roller coaster! I had a wonderful meeting with an incredible Doctor at the Black Lion hospital. He opened all the doors and the project is well on the way. Then I went to the City Administration Office and the staff was so helpful in explaining exactly what I need to do next. I spent the night eating dinner in my home with the two guards of the compound and the very sweet lady who helps me clean my house.

This morning started with a meeting with six people from USAIDE. They love what we are doing and are planning to bring some of their friends back to see us. My friend Judith sent some clothing with them. It is so nice to have enough for everyone.

Today I am meeting in the afternoon with a woman who knows how to dye straw with natural colors. We’re hoping to make unusual baskets to help our women earn their own money. Our next three houses should be open this week…
